Hello.

My name is Meghann and it is lovely to virtually meet you, and I am so glad you found my little corner of the internet world.

I have created this blog, as my love for cinema grows by the day and I want to share it with all of  you - in particular my love for going to the movie's alone also known as the best way to experience a film.

My solo cinema journey started back in 2015, when I wanted to see the biggest film of the year 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' but my friend's weren't interested in storm troopers and jedi's so I kissed the dream goodbye of seeing this on the big screen. However, it came to me that I could go on my own but with this thought came a lot of anxiety, as I was terrified what people would think. As a big people pleaser, the idea of people thinking I was sad and had no friends would consume my thoughts more than what was on the screen but I decided to put my big girl pants on and brave the packed screen and that was just the beginning.

Now cut too nearly ten years later, I couldn't imagine my life without my weekly solo cinema trips.

I have grown so much in confidence since then and never have to miss seeing a film, because I have no one to go with me - I just book a seat on my own and look forward to two hours of pure escapism.

It is so important to do this, particularly for me as a person whose brain is always active working full time in the week - my weekend trips to the cinema are my own form of self care. I am off my phone, out of touch with the real world and any anxieties just fizzle away as I concentrate on the story in front of me.

As I don't have someone to discuss my thought's with about the film I just watched - usually it is me talking to myself on the car journey home. I wanted to start this blog, as a way to connect with other's that share the same passion for film particularly film's of all genre's.

Seventeen year old me, would never have thought that I would book advance tickets for the latest horror film and actually look forward to opening night!

I also want this blog to be a place of no shame, and if you enjoy time on your own at the cinema and like me could think of nothing more perfect than spending a whole day in other world's on the big screen - then you are in the right place!

Don't ever worry about people looking at you, if I could go back to 2015 I would tell myself that no one care's - they have come to watch the film not you! Confidence can take time, but reminding yourself of this can help make the trip to the cinema easier - you got this!

Every week, I will post review's of my thoughts on the latest blockbusters and encourage other's to brave the cinema alone and experience a film in the best way possible - by yourself, no distractions, allowing yourself to be truly immersed in the film.

I am so happy you are here with me on this journey, and I hope my story can inspire you to try something different and surprise yourself in the process!

Love, Meghann :)
